Indications:
Kerendia is indicated to reduce the risk of sustained decline in kidney function, end-stage kidney disease, cardiovascular death, non-fatal myocardial infarction, and hospitalization for heart failure in adults with chronic kidney disease (CKD) associated with type 2 diabetes.
Dosage and Administration:
The starting dose is 10 mg or 20 mg once daily, adjusted based on estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) and serum potassium levels. After 4 weeks, adjust to a target dose of 20 mg once daily as appropriate. Tablets may be taken with or without food and can be crushed and mixed with water or soft food if swallowing is difficult.
Common Side Effects:
Hyperkalemia, hypotension, and hyponatremia.
Storage:
Store below 30°C in a cool, dry place away from light. Keep out of reach of children.
